A name carries
a history.
NORA is named for Ellenora, "Nora", a real woman, a great grandmother, who endured the violence of the eugenics era. Her choices were taken. Her voice was silenced. Her body was not her own.
These histories are not distant. They shape how care is experienced across generations. NORA was built so that no woman has to face that system alone again.
"Black women reclaiming the technologies that have so often left us behind, to build something better, creating not only change for ourselves but expanding what care can look like so that all women are seen, supported, and truly cared for."
— Jordan Williams, Founder of NORA
